*Ananya's Story
Ananya, a 3rd grader at the local government school in Acharapakkam, is known for her youthful exuberance and outgoing nature - she is described as having an infectious spirit and posses the special ability to make others smile. Her eager success in school and sunny demeanor might make it easy to miss that she's overcome obstacles that few children her age could comprehend. At the tender age of four, Ananya's mother died from complications of HIV. Her father, *Kabir, then struggled to make ends meet and found it increasingly difficult to care for his precious daughter who needed special medical attention. In hopes to secure a brighter future for his beloved daughter, he decided to seek help from the government hospital. It was there that he received advice that would change Ananya's life forever - she soon was welcomed as a resident at the Arias Home of HOPEww. There, she not only received much-needed medical care, but also emotional safety and educational support. Despite incredible challenges, Ananya's experience of transformative love and support in the Arias Home has enabled her to respond to adversity with resilience and hope. She's been given a second chance at life.
